Had a weird realization about frozen fries at my sister's house last night
I was over at my sister's place in Arlington last night and she pulled out this bag of generic store brand frozen fries for the air fryer. She just dumped them in, shook some garlic powder on top, and set it for 18 minutes at 400 degrees. I watched her and thought there has to be more to it, like a soak or an oil spray or something. But when they came out they were actually way crispier than my usual routine of soaking and drying and tossing in oil. I think I've been overcomplicating this whole air fryer thing for months now trying to chase some perfect texture. Has anyone else found that doing less with frozen stuff actually works better?

Honestly @kevin_dixon I don't think the brand matters as much as people make it out to be. I've had expensive name brand things fail on me and random no-name stuff last for years. It might just be luck or how you use them. I'd focus more on what the return policy is and if you can test it out first before going all in on a specific brand.
