Rant: A partner agency's 'standard' 20% referral fee is way above market now
Just saw a report from the Agency Growth Index showing the average referral fee for digital partnerships has dropped to 12% over the last year. Found this out while reviewing a new contract and it made me push back hard. Anyone else renegotiating these rates lately?

My buddy at a small SEO shop got a contract last month with a 25% referral fee built in. He used that same Agency Growth Index report to show them the 12% average and they actually agreed to drop it to 15% after some back and forth. He said just having that third party data made all the difference in the talk. It seems like a lot of these old rates are just hanging on from years ago. Definitely worth pushing back with the numbers in hand.
