Just walked out of a partnership meeting in Austin that felt like a setup

I drove down to Austin last Tuesday to meet with a potential partner agency. They kept dodging my questions about revenue splits and wanted me to sign a non-binding LOI before talking numbers. Anyone else get pitched a partnership that felt more like a trap than a deal?

Laugh at the "non-binding" part because that just means they can bind you later while you hold nothing. I've seen partners pull that move where the LOI is basically a free option on your time and leads. My advice, walk away unless they put real numbers on paper before you sign anything.

Non-binding means nothing when the other side holds all the cards. Real numbers on paper are the only thing that protects your time. Walk away early if they won't commit.
