Used to just call my dad for any adult problem, now I Google everything and call him as a last resort.

Somewhere around age 30 I stopped dialing first and started searching first, and I still get that sinking feeling when I finally do call him about something like how to fix a leaky toilet flange in my rental in Austin.

Is it really that deep though? You watched a couple YouTube videos and then called your dad, so what. Half the stuff on YouTube is wrong anyway, at least your old man has probably fixed a toilet before.

Hit google first every single time now too lol. There's something about having that instant answer that just feels more adult than bugging your dad with something you probably could figure out yourself. But man, that feeling when you're three youtube videos deep and still confused, and you finally cave and dial his number, it hits different. Gets me every time, like I'm 16 again asking him to explain how to check my oil or something. Just part of getting older I guess, learning when to ask for help and when to just figure it out.

Honestly I used to roll my eyes at that but you actually just made me rethink my whole approach to this stuff.
