meal prep containers finally clicked after 11 weeks of failing

I kept buying those cheap plastic ones and they'd warp in the dishwasher or leak all over my bag. Last month I splurged on a set of glass ones with locking lids, 12 bucks each, and now my lunches actually survive the commute. The real game changer was realizing I needed separate compartments, not just big bowls, so I stopped piling everything into one sad pile. My coworker saw my setup and said "that's the most organized thing you've ever done" which hurt but was fair. Has anyone else found that spending a little more on food storage made them actually stick with meal prepping? Or do you have a system that works better than containers?

Oh man, I read somewhere that people are way more likely to stick with healthy habits when the tools look nice and feel solid. That tracks with what you said. I tried the cheap route too and gave up after two weeks because everything tasted like last week's microwave and my bag smelled like a salad bar. Then I got a set of those glass ones with the snap lids and suddenly it felt less like a chore and more like a real routine. The separate compartments thing is smart, I never thought about that. Might have to steal that idea, actually.
