Am I the only one who noticed a huge shift in my savings after I stopped eating out for lunch?
I used to grab fast food or a cheap sandwich shop lunch every day at work, like $10-12 easy. Did that for about 2 years straight. Then I started packing my own lunch 3 months ago, just simple stuff like leftovers or a turkey wrap. My bank account is actually up like $200 a month now, it's wild how those little daily costs add up. Has anyone else seen a real difference from cutting out one regular habit like this?

I get what you're saying but I see it a bit differently. That $200 a month only works if you were actually spending $10-12 every single work day without fail. Most people I know grab lunch maybe 2-3 times a week and bring it the rest of the time. I tracked my own spending for a month and it came out to like $60 total on work lunches. Cutting that out saved me maybe $45 a month which is nothing compared to what I waste on beer and takeout on weekends. If you were really spending $250 a month on lunch then yeah that's a win, but a lot of folks exaggerate how much they actually spend.

Wait, @bens81 actually that makes a lot of sense and I never really thought about it that way before.
