After a year in a studio, I gave up on zero-waste living
Trying hard to avoid plastic just adds stress to my busy life, and I feel it's okay to focus on mental health over being perfect.

Yeah the plastic free life looks great in those pretty Instagram posts. Until you're spending 45 minutes at the grocery store trying to find anything not wrapped in plastic. My breaking point was the individually plastic wrapped broccoli. Like, it's a vegetable. It has its own packaging. Choosing your sanity over that is just smart.

Corporate waste matters way more than what we buy at the store. People trying their best is still good, obviously. But maybe the fight is in the wrong aisle.

Ugh, exactly. It feels like a weird magic trick where they make us stare at our shopping carts. I used to work in an office and the waste was insane, like a whole dumpster of just paper and plastic forks every week. They'd order too much of everything, then throw it out. All that pointless shipping waste from next-day supplies blows my mind, and yet my straw is the problem? lol. The math isn't mathing.
