The old food court fountain at Metro Mall finally gave out last month, flooded the whole lower level

I went back there to take some photos of the carousel and walked into ankle deep water. Security guard told me the pump for that giant fountain finally corroded through after sitting dry for like 8 years. Now the whole lower level is closed off. Has anyone else had a cool spot get ruined by something random like plumbing or vandalism?

I tripped over my own feet trying to take a dramatic photo of a dry fountain once, so at least you got a free wading pool out of it.

Right, because wading in a street puddle is a choice and not a result of terrible drainage. @kelly.nora at least got a story out of it, you just got wet socks.

Did you at least get the shot though? Asking for a friend who also fell for a dry fountain.
