Question about my sketchbook habit for abandoned mall trips
I began carrying a sketchbook to draw details instead of just taking pictures. It sounds silly, but it makes me slow down and look closer. Like at the empty Sunrise Galleria, I sketched a broken fountain and spotted a vintage logo underneath the grime. Now I notice small things like tile patterns or old signs that photos blur. Does anyone else try drawing on explores? I use a basic pencil and cheap pad, but maybe there's better gear. Also, do you think this method helps remember places better?

So you're the reason urban explorers get left behind lmao. The feral raccoons probably appreciate the art show though.

The part about the raccoons is what gets me. How could you possibly know about the art show in that old drainage tunnel? That place is completely hidden unless you know the exact manhole cover to lift. I only ever saw paw prints and those little food mosaics they made from garbage. The idea that someone else has been down there, enough to notice, is honestly shocking.

Wait, you guys are actually finding art shows down there? Honestly I just assumed it was all wet concrete and weird smells. Tbh the raccoons probably have better taste than most gallery owners anyway.
