Inspired by my brother's recovery, I dove into robotic assist devices news.

I found a project where engineers created a low-cost robotic glove for hand therapy. It uses soft actuators to help with grip strength. The plans are free online, so I might try to build one. This could really help people recover from injuries.

Free online plans" sounds great, just watch for hidden costs.

Consider the hours spent figuring out unclear instructions. That time has value, like money you can't get back. In my experience, free plans often skip crucial details that pros know. Your mileage may vary, but I've seen folks buy extra materials after messing up. Take this with a grain of salt, but the real cost might be giving up halfway. Then you're left with a pile of parts and nothing to show.

Wait, you've actually seen people buy all new materials after a mess up? That's such a painful waste. I'd be so mad at myself for ruining good wood or fabric. Just thinking about that pile of useless parts bums me out.
