I saw a woman's coat get caught in a revolving door at the Macy's in Chicago.
It ripped the lining out completely, but the outer shell was fine. Has anyone designed a coat with a quick-release lining for exactly this kind of thing?

Wonder if a magnetic lining would work, like those kids' jackets that come apart. But then you'd have to worry about losing it on the subway or something. A simple zipper might be the answer, but then you'd feel it all the time. It's a tough design problem to solve without making the coat worse.

Magnets are a solid idea but they fail when you need real security. A hidden zipper in the seam could work if they use a thin, flat tape. The trick is making the fix feel like it was never there.

Right? It's such a balancing act. You fix one problem and create another.
