My neighbor's trash can situation went from normal to a full-on public drama

For three months, the guy across the street has been putting out one single, overflowing bag of trash every Tuesday, but last week he started putting out six perfectly lined-up, identical black bags. The cause was his adult son moving back in after a breakup, which we only know because we heard them yelling about it in the driveway. Has anyone else had a neighbor's personal life play out through their garbage?

Honestly used to think trash was just trash. Tbh this post makes me see it's like a weird neighborhood news feed. Ngl I'm gonna be paying way more attention to bin night now, that's for sure. Kinda sad but also weirdly interesting how you can spot life changes that way.

Right @brian_ramirez? It's like the whole world leaves little clues if you know where to look, not just the trash lol.

Man, it's a whole soap opera out there on the curb. I saw a house go from baby formula cans to empty wine bottles over like a year. Another one had all the boxes for a new big TV, then a treadmill a month later, then just pizza boxes for a while. You can totally tell when someone gives up on a hobby or gets sad. It's kind of hard not to notice once you start looking.
