Shoutout to the guy who told me to check my pump bearings first
Took me three days to figure out why my dredge was vibrating like crazy on a job near Baton Rouge. Turns out it was just a worn bearing, not the whole pump assembly. Anyone else spent way too long on a simple fix?

Whoa there... I gotta say its usually not the pump assembly itself but a bad bearing in the motor that causes that shaking. I spent a whole weekend once on a chiller unit before I realized the bearing housing was just loose from vibration over time. You might want to check if the locking collar on your bearing got loose too, that can mimic a worn bearing real easy.

Huh, are we really that sure it's the bearing? I've swapped out a pump that was shaking like crazy and it turned out the impeller was just a little bent from debris. That loose bearing housing thing sounds like one of those "trust me I'm a technician" stories that makes me wonder how much time you actually wasted vs. just swapping a $50 part.

Yeah I've been that guy, spent a whole day changing a pump that just needed a new bearing.
