The $20 laser level I almost tossed in the trash turned out to be worth every penny
Bought a cheap laser level from Harbor Freight for $20 last year, figured it would be junk for hanging cabinets. Set it up in my kitchen remodel and it held level perfectly through a messy job with dust and vibrations. Been using it for six months now on three different projects and it hasn't drifted at all. Has anyone else had good luck with budget tools that surprised you?

Can you trust a laser level that cheap to stay accurate after you drop it a few times? I beat mine up pretty bad and it still works fine, so yeah it was worth way more than $20.

Read somewhere that those cheap lasers use a pendulum lock system, so sometimes they're tougher than you'd think. Sounds like yours is built better than my last $50 one.

Oh man, I had a $15 stud finder from the hardware store that I swore was broken for a year... turns out I just didn't know you had to hold it perfectly flat against the wall.
