I used to think painting a room was a weekend job until last month

Last month I decided to paint my living room in my house in Tacoma. I thought I could just slap on two coats and be done in two days. After the first coat dried, I saw all the brush marks and missed spots. I ended up spending three more evenings fixing it, sanding between coats. Has anyone else had a simple paint job turn into a week-long project?
