Finally tried hot water for fixing a sticky paint roller cover...

I kept getting these awful lint bits stuck in my roller from cheap covers, even after washing them. Read some random blog that said to soak new roller covers in hot water for 5 minutes before use, then spin them dry. Has anyone else tried that trick and had it work, or was it just beginners luck on my last trim job?

95% of the time hot water just makes the glue on cheap covers break down faster and you get even more junk stuck in the paint. You got lucky once, that's all.

You really think 95% of people are using the same cheap covers? Most folks I know use decent ones that can handle a little warm water without falling apart. If your glue melts that easy, you bought the wrong brand. Maybe try not putting your stuff in the oven or using boiling water. Hot tap water is fine for most things if you're not an idiot about it.
