Drywall taping trick I picked up from a guy in Memphis
I was fixing a crack in my living room ceiling and kept getting bubbles in the tape. A retired painter I met at Lowes told me to spray the joint compound with water before laying the tape down, and it worked perfectly the first time. Has anyone else tried wetting the compound on tricky seams like that?

That whole "spray the compound with water" thing sounds crazy but man I bet it works. I used to get bubbles all the time too and it drove me nuts... never thought about wetting the mud first. I always just tried to push the air out with my knife and that was a losing battle honestly. Might have to try that trick next time I'm doing a ceiling patch.

Might just be me but I never had that much trouble with bubbles. Seems like a lot of extra work for something that'll be fine after a second coat.
