My fridge was making this awful clicking noise for weeks

Finally figured out it was just the condenser fan hitting a loose wire. Taped it back with electrical tape I had in a drawer. Took maybe 15 minutes and saved me a $150 service call. Has anyone else had a fridge sound like it was dying but it was something simple?

Fifteen minutes with a roll of tape from a drawer. Sure buddy. The fridge was clicking for weeks and you just happened to have electrical tape sitting around? Most people don't even know what a condenser fan looks like, let alone have tape handy to fix it. I bet you also found a fifty dollar bill on the sidewalk that same day. But seriously, even if this is real, a loose wire hitting a fan isn't exactly "dying." That's more like a mild annoyance. A fridge that's actually dying sounds like a dying cow and costs way more than tape to fix.

Dying cows don't click like a fridge, they groan and moan pretty loud if you've been around barns. Electrical tape is basic repair stuff, lots of people have a roll in a junk drawer or toolbox for random fixes. The clicking noise is exactly what a loose wire touching a fan does, that's a common problem, not some made up story.
