Switched from store brand to Dawn Platinum and now I get why people are loyal to it

I was at Kroger last week and saw the Dawn Platinum was like $5.49 for a big bottle and the store brand was $2.99. I've always gone with the cheap stuff because soap is soap right? But I had a greasy baking sheet from roasting chicken that I've scrubbed like 4 times before and it never comes clean. Used the Dawn Platinum on it and it cut through the grease in one pass. Like actually one pass no scrubbing. That never happened with the store brand. Now I'm wondering how many other things I've been making harder on myself just to save $2.50. Anyone else have a random product that made them switch teams?

Oh come on, you really think that little bit of extra grease cutting is worth more than double the price?... I've been using the Walmart generic for years and my dishes come out just fine, maybe you just got lucky with that pan or you finally soaked it long enough. Store brand soap has the exact same active ingredients, the only difference is you're paying for fancy marketing and a little blue bottle. I'll take my $2.50 savings and use it on something that actually matters, like a better sponge or a good scrub brush.

Doesn't it feel good to save that little bit though?

Didn't I read somewhere that the cheaper stuff actually works better in hard water too?
