Warning: My $200 portable monitor was a total waste of money for my setup in Bali.

I thought it would boost my productivity, but the glare was so bad at my usual cafe that I just went back to using my laptop screen after two frustrating weeks, so what's one piece of gear you bought that didn't work out at all?

Got a cheap portable monitor once for the same reason. The screen was so dim I had to sit in a dark corner just to see it, which totally defeated the purpose of working in a cafe. Ended up selling it for half price on Facebook Marketplace just to get rid of the thing.

What brand was that dim monitor? I've been looking at a few cheap ones online, but all the reviews just talk about ports and weight... nobody ever mentions how bright the screen actually is in a real room. Seems like a major detail to leave out.
