Shoutout to my old Wacom tablet that finally gave up after 8 years

I was finishing a portrait last Tuesday and the pen pressure just stopped working mid-stroke. I tried reinstalling the driver and using a different cable, but the tablet itself seems to have failed. Has anyone else had a trusted piece of gear die and found a good replacement?

My old Huion tablet lasted me about 5 years before the USB port got finicky. I mean, @mary776 is right that 8 years is a solid run for any tablet. But it still stings when a tool you're used to just quits on you mid-project. I ended up getting a newer Wacom Intuos and honestly the feel is way different, took a minute to adjust. Hope you find something that works for your workflow.
