Spent $800 on a Snap-On scan tool for my shop

Bought it 3 years ago to diagnose a tricky 2017 Cummins. Paid off that truck alone in one job. Saved me hours of back and forth with parts swapping. But the software updates cost like $200 a year now. Still, beats borrowing the dealer's tool or guessing. Anyone else feel locked into the Snap-On ecosystem?

Honestly, is Autel really gonna give you the same level of diagnostic depth on a newer Cummins? I tried one and it couldn't even see half the modules.

Man, I sold mine after year two and went with an Autel, never looked back.

Reselling that tool on eBay could almost cover the cost of a new Autel.
