I was at the new self-checkout lane in my local grocery store and the screen asked if I wanted a receipt emailed to me before I even typed anything.

It just felt like my phone or my card was already linked to my face or something, and I stood there for a full minute wondering how many other places are doing that without telling us.

Same here, mine started locking up the toothpaste too.

Actually noticed they lock up the deodorant and razors, not the toothpaste at my store. The toothpaste is just in those big plastic security cases. It's a different system. They only put the really expensive stuff behind glass. Makes sense from a loss prevention view, but it's a huge pain when you just need basic things.
