Can we talk about using a tiny flathead screwdriver to pop those stuck plastic clips
Everyone says you need a special trim removal tool for car interior panels... I spent $30 on a set at AutoZone and they still broke on me. After 2 years of fighting with them, I grabbed a 1/8" flathead from my tool pouch and wrapped the tip in electrical tape. Works way better and I can get into tight spots those plastic things just can't reach. Has anyone else ditched the fancy tools for something simple?

Wait, you're wrapping tape on a screwdriver and calling that better? The tape slips, the metal scratches the panel, and you're one slip away from poking a hole in your upholstery. Those plastic trim tools are softer and spread the force out way better, you just got a cheap set.

You know, I get what you're saying, but I've used the tape trick on a screwdriver for years and never had a problem. The tape only slips if you wrap it loose or use the wrong kind, and if you're careful about where you pry, you're not going to punch through anything. I think people get a little too worked up about using the "right" tool when half the time a little common sense works just fine. Plus, those plastic trim tools can snap if you're not careful too, so it's not like they're foolproof.
