Vent: My brother's "just use the same password everywhere" advice almost ruined me
Last year my older brother told me it was fine to reuse my bank password on random accounts because "nobody's targeting you." Then in March, my email got hacked because some forum I signed up for in 2022 got breached. The hacker used that password to try logging into my PayPal and Amazon (both saved in my email). I spent 3 days changing 40+ accounts and lost $200 from a gift card they redeemed. Has anyone else had a relative give them dangerously bad security advice?

Scare him straight by showing him what actually happened to you.

Scare him straight by showing him what actually happened to you" - I mean, is it really that deep though @kelly.nora? Sometimes a kid is just being a goof and doesn't need a full horror story to get the point. I'd say only bust out the heavy stuff if he's actually heading down a bad road, not just being a typical teenager.
