That sysadmin who told me to use a password manager was right after my third account got hit
Lost access to my old gaming forum account from 2017 when someone cracked my reused password. Has anyone else dodged a bullet like that and finally made the switch?

piper912 is right that 2017 was rough for breaches, but I'd argue password managers aren't a magic fix for reusing passwords.

actually password managers can be a total single point of failure. if someone gets into your master password or the manager itself gets hacked, you've basically handed them the keys to everything. that's way worse than just having a few reused passwords that you can change fast.
