That prompt battle in the Discord server got way too personal

Tbh I joined a small writing server where we run weekly prompt battles, and last Tuesday one person wrote a piece that was clearly aimed at another member's recent breakup. The mods had to step in and shut the whole thing down after 40 messages of drama. Has anyone else seen a friendly prompt community go toxic, and how did you handle setting boundaries without killing the fun?

Thirty bucks says that breakup piece wasn't even aimed at anyone, people just read into it because they were already on edge. Seen it happen too many times where a sad poem or vague venting gets turned into a personal attack when it's really just the writer working through their own stuff.
