Changed my mind about writing prompts with word limits after a guy in my Tuesday group read his 50-word story out loud
I used to skip any prompt that said "keep it under 100 words" because I figured you can't build anything real in that space. Then last week at the library in Tucson this older guy read a 50-word piece about his brother's truck and half the room went quiet, and it hit harder than the 3 page stories we usually workshopped. Now I'm wondering if the limit is the whole point, has anyone else flipped on this?
