My room mate vanished for 9 days and came back with 40 pounds of frozen chicken and a chest freezer
She left a note that just said "be back" and I honestly thought she was gone for good, then she rolled up in a U-Haul on a Sunday and started hauling in a freezer that did not fit through our kitchen door, so now it lives in the living room plugged into an extension cord across the carpet. I tripped over that cord twice before I even asked her why, and her answer was "it was on sale." Has anyone else had a room mate bring home an appliance that needs its own zip code?
My buddy Marcus had a room mate pull something like this back in 2019, except it was a commercial deep fryer he bought off some restaurant that went under. This thing was the size of a washing machine and weighed like 200 pounds, and the guy kept it on their little apartment balcony because it didn't fit anywhere else. Marcus came home from work one night and the whole hallway smelled like old grease because the dude was trying to fry turkeys out there at 11pm. Landlord found out three weeks later from a noise complaint and made him get rid of it, so the guy sold it to some guy on Facebook for half what he paid. Your room mate at least got a deal on the chicken I guess, but that extension cord across the carpet is a fire waiting to happen. Frozen chicken is cheap for a reason sometimes, like when they gotta move 40 pounds of it fast before it thaws.
