Site supervisor's comment about my hoist speed got me thinking
Last Tuesday on a job in Phoenix, the site supervisor pulled me aside and said my hoist speed was too slow for the pour schedule. He wasn't rude about it, just pointed out I was losing about 20 minutes per lift compared to the other operator on site. I checked my log afterward and realized he was right, I've been running cautious speeds since a near miss back in March. Do you guys adjust your hoist speed based on the pressure from the GC, or do you hold your line and let them plan around you?
