Drove past the Houston port project and totally flipped on tower crane placement

I used to think two cranes on the same slab was just asking for a wreck, but seeing how they staggered the booms at that terminal job changed my mind completely. Watching them coordinate lifts without crossing paths was smoother than any single crane setup I've seen in 15 years. Has anybody else worked a job with dual cranes on a tight footprint?

Huh, that staggered boom setup is actually the smart way to do it, most folks just line them up and hope for the best. I watched a video breakdown of how they timed the slewing for a dual crane lift in Singapore, and the key was having both operators on the same radio channel with zero delay. The real trick nobody talks about is the counterweight swing path, if you don't plan that you're asking for a mess no matter how good the booms look.

Counterweight swing path is the part nobody watches until it goes wrong.
