That $200 hot comb I bought from a salon supplier in Denver was a total ripoff
Everyone raves about those fancy ceramic hot combs for pressing hair, but mine started denting after 3 uses and the heat was super uneven. Cost me $200 at a trade show and I got better results from a $30 marcel iron I picked up at a beauty supply. Has anyone else had luck with cheaper options that actually work?

Spent $150 on a "professional" flat iron once. Dent city after two weeks.

@ryan_ellis what bugs me more than the dent is nobody talks about how these "pro" tools often have terrible weight distribution. They're so front-heavy that even setting them down gently makes them tip and smack the counter. A dent happens because the design is bad, not just because you dropped it.

Man did you actually drop it or something? Honestly I’ve had a different experience with higher end flat irons. Tbh a $150 tool should be built tougher than that unless it’s straight up cheap plastic inside. Ngl I’ve dropped my GHD like five times and it’s still working fine after years. Maybe you just got a bad unit or a dud from that brand. I feel like sometimes people blame the whole category when it’s really just one specific model that’s junk.
