Totally get the "saved my back" thing. I got a proper floor mat last year and it made the same kind of difference. That kind of upgrade is just essential.

My old shop had this terrible layout where all the supplies were across the room. I used a cheap plastic cart for years before I finally got a good three-tier metal one on wheels. The difference was night and day, just having everything right there without bending over. It seems so simple but it saves your energy for the actual work. I bet you'll find yourself using that cart for stuff you never even planned on.
