I thought the $10 Wet Brush was a gimmick for years... then I actually tried one last week

My coworker left hers in the break room and I picked it up to try it on a whim. My hair is super thick and tangly after a long day of clients. That thing went through like nothing. No pulling, no breakage. I bought one the same day. Has anyone else been surprised by a tool they thought was overhyped?

Wait, does this mean I have to apologize to everyone I've ever argued with about kitchen gadgets and hair tools? Because that's going to be a LONG list and I'm not looking forward to eating all that humble pie.

It's funny how that happens, I feel like there's a whole category of stuff we write off as marketing hype until we actually give it a shot and realize sometimes the hype is just people being right. Once you notice that pattern you start wondering what else you've been missing.

Had a mate who swore black and blue that air fryers were just a gimmick until his partner bought one. Now he uses it more than she does and I don't think he's touched his oven in six months.
