I switched from a standard 30-degree bevel to a 45-degree one for my shears and the difference is huge.

I was thinning out a client's thick hair in my Chicago salon and my usual shears just weren't cutting it, literally. My mentor suggested I try her shears with the steeper angle, and it glided through the section in one smooth motion. Has anyone else found a specific tool adjustment that made a tough job way easier?

My last bevel upgrade just meant I cut myself faster.

My old shears had a 25-degree bevel and I struggled with blunt cuts on coarse hair. Switched to a 40-degree pair last year and it was like night and day, the control is just so much better. It honestly saved me so much frustration on men's thick haircuts.

Guess you could say your mentor really gave you the right angle on things.
