Dumped $22 on one of those veggie saver containers and my celery still went limp in 5 days
So about two months back I grabbed one of those fancy produce keeper boxes at Bed Bath for $22 because the package swore it would keep greens fresh for two weeks. Five days later my celery was rubber and the carrots were soft, so I did a test and just wrapped the next batch in a dry paper towel inside a plain ziplock. That stuff held for almost nine days in the same crisper drawer. Now here is where I am stuck arguing with myself. Half of me says these containers are flat out junk and the money would be better spent on anything else, maybe just a cheap bag of paper towels. The other half says maybe I filled it wrong or the drawer temp was off and the thing actually works for people who do it right. I am out $22 plus the gas to drive back to the store, so I want to hear from folks who either swear by these or think I got played. Which side are you on, and if you use one, what do you put in it that actually lasts?
