My brother's garlic bread hack wrecked my lasagna night

Tbh my brother told me to add raw minced garlic straight into the butter for garlic bread, said it was a 'game changer'. I tried it for a dinner party in Minneapolis last Friday and the garlic burned into bitter black specks within 4 minutes at 375. The whole loaf tasted like a campfire and everyone ate the salad instead. Has anyone else been burned by a sibling's shortcut that sounded good in theory?

Garlic burns way faster than most people expect, especially if it sits on top of the bread where the heat hits it directly. I read somewhere that mixing the minced garlic into softened butter and letting it sit for 15 minutes helps mellow the bite before baking. That plus a lower temp like 350 and watching it like a hawk might save your next lasagna night.
