Saw a crew in Nashville scanning a wall with an iPad and it clicked why my tape measure keeps costing me
I was walking past a hotel build on 5th Ave in Nashville last week and a guy was pointing an iPad at a half framed wall. Turns out he was doing layout right off a model instead of snapping chalk lines. I run a small framing crew and still do everything with a tape and a level, and we had to reframe a stair opening twice last month because my numbers were off by an inch and a half. Those two mistakes cost me about 9 hours of labor and a sheet of ply. Curious if anyone here made the switch on smaller jobs, and what it took before it actually paid off for you?
