Sat through a 3 hour city council meeting in Tempe on 5G towers and left with more doubts than answers
The telecom guy kept saying the radiation levels were 'below FCC limits' but wouldn't answer the retired engineer next to me who asked what happens when you add 40 more small cells on the same block, so has anyone else gone to one of these meetings and actually gotten a straight number out of them?
Went to the one in Chandler back in March and the guy from the cell company pulled up a laptop showing one tower at 0.3% of FCC limits, then the room went quiet when a lady asked him to show the same chart with the other 12 poles already on that street. He said they "don't add up that way" and moved to the next slide. That's the whole trick right there, they measure each antenna like it's sitting alone in a field. Nobody at these meetings will give you a combined number because the combined number is the one that actually matters.
