Question about grocery store conspiracy theories that a cashier once told me

An older cashier at Kroger in St. Louis last summer said the produce misters are timed to make the veggies look fresh for cameras, not for customers, and I still wonder if that's true or just her opinion, has anyone else heard something like that from a store worker?

Honestly my Kroger's misters go off every 15 minutes without fail, I've watched them. Ngl that cashier might be right, there's no way sprinkling water every 15 minutes keeps anything fresh.

Bet you they time it to make wet spots look intentional instead of actually keeping stuff crisp. You ever see them check if the water even helps or just looks pretty?
