That Tuesday pour went sideways in the rain
We had a driveway in Tulsa scheduled for 6 AM. Mix showed up perfect, then the sky just opened up. Water pooled right in the low spot near the garage, blew the cream off the surface. Took me 30 minutes to screed it back and burnish with a mag float. Client still paid full, but I spent the whole day second guessing my bull float timing. Anybody else fight a summer storm on an open slab and just accept the patch job?

Feel you on that one. Storm cells come out of nowhere in Oklahoma and the timing is always the worst. You did the right thing getting the mag float on it fast, most guys would've just left it and hoped the cream came back. That low spot near the garage is a bitch too, water always finds it first. Don't second guess the bull float, you handled a bad situation about as well as anyone could. Client paid, slab's solid, that's a win in my book.
