Spent 2 years installing RAM wrong before a coworker pointed it out
I always just shoved the stick in until the clips snapped but apparently you're supposed to push from both ends evenly. A guy at Micro Center in Austin saw me doing it and said 'bro you're gonna crack the board'. Has anyone else been doing basic stuff wrong for way too long?

Jeez, yeah, I had a buddy who thought he could save a few bucks doing this at home. He used a regular screwdriver instead of a proper pry tool and ended up bending a whole row of pins. Took him like two hours with tweezers and a magnifying glass to straighten them out. Then one snapped off clean and he just had to toss the whole motherboard. Painful to watch honestly.

Oof, always use a plastic spudger for this stuff.
