Spent $800 on a custom full-face mask, went back to the standard one in a week

I thought I was doing myself a favor buying that fancy custom molded mask for a 3 week job off Louisiana. The fit was perfect, no doubt, but the comms unit kept fogging my lenses something fierce. Every single dive I had to surface early just to clear it, burned through my bottom time and made the whole crew wait on me. Ended up switching back to my old Kirby Morgan that I've had for 6 years, zero issues, and the custom one is sitting in my garage collecting dust. Maybe I just got a bad unit or my face shape is weird, but has anyone else had luck with those high end fits or am I the only one who thinks they're overhyped?
