My $600 Kirby Morgan reg rebuild almost cost me a dive
Last month I decided to cheap out and rebuild my own breathing regulator on my old KM 37. I bought a generic rebuild kit online for like $60 instead of sending it to a certified shop. First dive back, I started free-flowing at 60 feet and had to abort the whole job. Turns out I messed up the diaphragm seating. Paid $250 for the shop to fix my mistake plus another $350 in lost dive time. Never again. Any of you guys do your own gear work or just stick with the pros?

Who hasn't learned that lesson the hard way? I ruined a set of double tanks.
