A simple change in our check-in process saved a buddy last week
Back when I started, we often skipped pre-dive checks to save time. These days, we have a strict gear review before each job. Last week, that review spotted a faulty valve on my partner's tank. Fixing it on the spot kept us safe and on schedule. It's nice to see how these little steps add up over the years.

Absolutely, those habits become second nature and then prove their worth. We had a similar close call years ago when a quick look at my own harness caught a frayed strap. It’s funny how these small routines quietly become your most important tools.

A buddy's quick glance saved my neck last month too.

Honestly I used to ignore those small habits until one totally changed my mind.
