A coffee shop chat with an old saturation diver changed how I see the surface interval
Ngl, I was venting about a 14-day rotation in the Gulf and this retired guy at a diner in Lafayette starts talking about 30 days in a bell, and it just hit me that my 'tough' schedule is a walk in the park. He said, 'Son, your worst day topside is still a vacation from the hatch,' and now I can't stop thinking about that every time I complain. Anyone else get put in their place by an old timer like that?
