TIL the old heads at my shop were wrong about coolant concentration

A rep from our coolant supplier tested our sumps and told me 8% is way too rich for the aluminum we run, it was causing the skin irritation everyone blamed on the soap. We dropped to 6% and the finish got better, anyone else running leaner than the book says?
