That moment I realized my recycling habit was making things worse
I always tossed my plastic bottles into the bin without rinsing them out first. One day a neighbor who works at the recycling center told me that dirty containers can ruin entire batches of recycled material. I had no idea something so small could undo other people's efforts. Now I take 30 seconds to rinse each bottle before recycling. Has anyone else learned a simple change that made a bigger difference than you expected?

Realized my 'out of sight out of mind' approach was just ruining someone else's day. Who knew a quick rinse could save the planet from my laziness. Guess I'll stop being that jerk who leaves half a soda in the bottle.

Honestly feel like people exaggerate how much of a problem this really is lol. A quick rinse is nice but the real issue is corporations making all this plastic in the first place.
