My city's heatwave last July finally made me get serious about solar
We had a full week over 100 degrees and the grid was straining, so I called a local installer for a quote. Seeing the numbers on how much power my roof could actually make changed my whole view from a 'maybe someday' thing to a real plan. What was the tipping point that got you to make a big change at home?

Honestly though, is the grid really that close to failing from a single heatwave? Feels like we hear these warnings every summer but the lights always stay on. Solar is a huge upfront cost for what might just be a rare scare tactic. Maybe it's just me, but I'd need to see some real proof we're in trouble before dropping that kind of cash.

Man, I used to think just like that too. Then my buddy @the_lee showed me the actual grid strain reports from last July. Seeing the real numbers, not just the warnings, made it click for me that it's a real gamble.
