Cutting food waste with a simple meal prep trick I learned at the Portland farmers market
I kept throwing out half my veggies every week because they'd go bad before I got to them. A vendor there told me to chop and freeze bell peppers and onions right away instead of waiting. I tried it with a batch of 6 peppers last Sunday and they're still good 10 days later for stir fries. Anyone else do this with other produce that goes bad fast?

I chopped up a whole bag of celery once thinking I was being smart and then forgot about it for two weeks. Looked like sad little green sticks that had given up on life. Now I'm the guy who freezes half his grocery haul and pretends he's got his life together. Nice tip on the peppers though, I always buy them with big plans and then order pizza.

Funny you mention that @jordan_young, I'm the guy who buys bags of spinach with big dreams of being a health nut and ends up watching it turn into a sad slimy mess in the back of the fridge. Made the mistake of freezing a whole head of lettuce once, that was a disaster, tasted like soggy cardboard. Now I stick to bell peppers and onions like the post says, anything else and I'm just lying to myself about my cooking habits.
